Here is my demo video of the new Boss DD-8 Digital Delay pedal. This demo covers some of my favorite ways to use the DD-8, some looping (but not in the looper mode), and a quick run of all delay modes available on the pedal (Analog, Digital, Tape, Warm, Reverse, +Reverb, Shimmer, Modulated, Warp, Glitch).
9 Granular Delay patches for Line 6 HX Stomp, Helix, and HX Effects. These are inspired by granular delay effects such as Red Panda Particle, granular module on Empress Effects ZOIA, and some granular Organelle patches (FuzzyMemories etc).
My starting point was the guitar sounds on Low’s latest album Double Negative. I created a couple of patches to try to get those sounds, and all the others are variations of the same initial idea.
I have created another patch after making the video (which is a variation of the bit crushed granular delay patch), so the video shows 8 patches but the pack includes 9 patches.
The number of blocks used change depending on the patch.
Without the Amp+Cab block, the patches use:
Grains 1 and 2, Grains Octave, and Reverse Grains: 5 Blocks
Grains Soft, Grains Stutter 1: 4 Blocks
Grainy Bits 1 and 2, Grains Stutter 2: 3 Blocks
Source Audio C4 Synth is a synth and filter pedal for guitar and bass with a modular approach to create your own sounds. I’m showing my own presets in this video. You can find these presets in the Neuro app with the same name you see on the screen. The knobs may not reflect the pedal settings as I’m using the editor to control the pedal and change presets.
10 interesting sounds TC Electronic Brainwaves Pitch shifter can make.
There are good videos showing the simple pitch shifting capabilities of Brainwaves but I decided to focus on more interesting stuff. Brainwaves is not a simple pitch shifter. It has stereo ins/outs, 2 voices, MASH switch, delay, filter, and distortion. TonePrint editor allows editing all these in great detail to create lots of different and interesting sounds. Here are the 10 TonePrints I came up with.
You can easily recreate these sounds in the TonePrint editor using your computer or iPad. P.S. Use the Kaiser Pitch TonePrint as the template for downtune / capo type sounds.
9 Lo-Fi Patches for Line 6 Helix, HX Stomp, and HX Effects. These patches are not inspired by particular pedals.
This pack used to include 7 patches but now includes 2 extra patches (at no extra cost)! You can hear them here at 14:26.
Patches and the number of blocks they use are: Random Vibrato: 5, Noisy LoFi Vibrato: 4, Old Tape: 5, Gritty & Old: 5, Glitchy LoFi: 5, LoFi Delay: 5, LoFi Reverb: 6.
6 pitch shifting delay presets for Source Audio Nemesis Delay. These presets are using the Shifter, Helix, Reverse, Double Helix, and Compound Shifter engines. You can find them on the Neuro platform with the same name you see in the video.
The Reverse and Helix engines work like a sampler rather than a regular pitch shifter. When you change the pitch in these engines, the playback speed also changes. This is similar to how Montreal Assembly Count to 5 works. There are lots of interesting sounds to find in these engines.
If you use these presets, please rate them in the Neuro app so that they get more visible.
4 Reverse Reverb patches for Line 6 Helix, HX Stomp, and HX Effects . The first two patches are inspired by classic reverse reverb effects in which the amplitude of the reverb tail is reverse. These effects (and therefore these 2 patches) don’t include a backwards sound but the reverse tail goes from quiet to loud. The third patch is a modulated reverb with a reverse feel. The fourth patch includes a backwards signal (actual reversed sound).
4 pitch shifting analog delay patches for Line 6 HX Stomp, inspired by Chase Bliss Audio Thermae and 80Tape In Limbo (Limbo III). Pitch shifting is activated by pressing the second switch, which works either momentary or latching, depending on the patch. This is a quick demo to show what these patches can do and how they work.
These patches use 3 blocks. One of these blocks is an Amp+Cab block in all of the patches.
2 patches for Line 6 Helix, HX Stomp, HX Effects, inspired by Earthquaker Devices Rainbow Machine. This patch can do both the chorus-y sound and the oscillating “Magic” sound of Rainbow Machine.
These patches use 4 blocks. I have an amp+cab block in all of them (except the HX Effects versions). You can easily change it into anything you like.
